Yogi Bear DVD Giveaway!

The new Yogi Bear movie was just released on DVD two days ago. We haven't seen it yet, I think we're going to still check it out at the $1 theater because movie popcorn is awesome. F&B are loving the Yogi Bear cartoons on Boomerang which completely cracks me up. I remember watching that with my brother.

Yogi Bear features Dan Aykroyd as the voice of Yogi and Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo, along with their adventures in Jellystone Park. When Jellystone is threatened by a logging company, Yogi teams up with a documentary film maker to save the park.

Check out the widget above for a preview of the movie and fun bear & picnic related activities. Even better, the Sierra Club has partnered with Yogi Bear to present bear tips, facts, and information on how to help protect wild bears.

Want a chance to win a copy for yourself?

It's a short turn around, so entries must be received by March 28th. Contest is open to US readers (or those with a US shipping address only).

  1. Polar bear fur is not actually white, they have black skin and clear fur!

  2. Did you know that some species of bears make nests in trees? Black bears, sun bears, and asiatic bears all do. The bears will bend down branches and make resting areas that look somewhat like a bird nest. They will sleep, hide, and eat in their "nests."

  4. I decided to ask Mac your question and see what she had to say... "They live in the woods at Nannie & Papa's house. I leave food for them, but they only come out to get it after I leave."

  8. Have you ever noticed that bears look pigeon-toed? This could be to help them hold onto trees that they are climbing and make it easier for them to put food in their mouths.

  12. Did you know baby grizzly bears are born at the end of the hibernation period. A litter is usually two, but up to four cubs, will
stay with their moms for 3 years, which is rare in nature.

  13. That's what I get for being distracted by a screaming child while typing... LOL I missed the fact about bears part, so feel free to delete my smile! LOL

I don't know any facts that haven't been mentioned off the top of my head. I did have a baby black bear cross in front of me once while I was driving when I was 16. Scared me because I was sure mama bear was close behind! lol

  17. A bear's sense of smell is 1000 times geater than a human's. This fact is from Aubrey who says he saw it on a show on Discovery. It's possible he made it up though ;)

  18. According to my kid's toy bears say "rawr" (think someone making a catfight noise). lol. Real fact - bears walk flat footed rather than on their toes like most animals.

  19. Being a cub is not all fun and games. They are expected to follow their mother and learn how to find food or hunt. Maybe they should make bentos!

  20. We live outside of Atlanta and are members of the Atlanta Zoo. We visited last weekend and saw the new baby Panda named Po. He is named after the Jack Black character in the movie Kung Fu Panda. He was the only panda born in the US last year.
